Well, theys & gents? It has come time to make things a little more official. Let’s get started.
Organizational Chart.
JENN & ANTONY, studio leaders
Jenn is your studio manager. All unknown questions funnel up to her.
Antony is the academic/lead researcher and the engine behind all of this coming to fruition. Accessibility concerns go straight to him.
BOB, U.S. reference librarian
Bob is Jenn’s graduate school mentor. He is in the Discord to make sure nothing goes too awry for Jenn’s house and home.
Bob is a librarian for real, for real. He is an unlimited fountain of resources. But don’t take advantage! He still has a day job!
JEREMY, co-captain
Jeremy is Jenn’s co-captain. The studio would not exist without him. If Jenn is unavailable to answer questions, Jeremy is your go-to. He will be able to answer, or get me to answer if I’m OOO.
Jeremy wrangles the creatives. Everyone except for…
SHANNON/STAMEY, creative director
The man needs no introduction, but if you have art needs or concerns, he will be your point person.
Shannon reports directly to Jenn and works closely with Jeremy and Jenn.
TUCKER, writing lead
Tucker wrangles the writers. He reports directly to Jenn or Jeremy depending on project milestone.
All writing direction will come from Tucker in collaboration with a 5-6 person writing table for the BRIAR ROSE retelling project.
JOHNNY, tech guy
Not a techbro. But close!
Tech issues? Johnny should be able to help troubleshoot!
If not, talk to the bossman. (It me. I’m the bossman.)
The WRITERS
H, Shakespearean poet
Raven, personality hire (just kidding… OR AM I!?)
Jeremy, imagination station
Jenn, hm? Oh. I know Douglas Adams’ work well enough and I have an MFA in this very thing.
Tucker, Pratchett-obsessed (my fault. You’re welcome.)
Dan, fellow MFA-er from my 9 months at Texas State.
STUDIO DIRECTION.
We have TWO main projects on our plates.
Briar Rose Retelling
This should be a fun, light-hearted, and incredibly sentimental project for our team to start working on together.
There are no deadlines. We are building a small gaming portfolio to support our funding requests when we’re ready to start fully engaging in…
Skyy Pirates
Skyy Pirates is a placeholder title I’ve given the franchise-level project Jeremy and I have been working on since 2007. This crazy thing we’re all doing together would not be here if we weren’t a couple of slackers post-high school.
I will be releasing bits and bobs of this higher-level project with the team to help keep everyone motivated and wanting to engage in work and/or the Discord.
TECH STACKS.
There are too many people with differing technology needs, wants, and desires on the team. This means, I will need to develop tech stacks for the creative, academic, and writing teams specifically.
This will be finished next week, and handed directly to the relevant people to help disseminate the info should they need to help any writer or other team member get up-to-snuff.
HEY! PSST! Did you miss it? I made you a Discord walkthrough. Watch it here!
For now, a phone and a computer is enough.
MEETINGS.
Everyone who should be meeting with me regularly now has meeting invites in their inbox. Please accept. I plan to pay everyone who shows up to their meetings as fairly as I can. I can’t discuss the specifics with you unless you are showing up to meetings. If you want more info, DM or text me.
UP NEXT…
Who knows! Not me!
Just kidding. You’ll get your tech stacks next week and we will begin meeting regularly for a month to see how we get on. More teasers for Skyy Pirates are on the way!
